Things Annoying Motivational Speakers Say

What did you think of the video? I'm dedicated to using more video this year, and while I need to master the lighting, the ambient sound (yes, you're actually hearing crickets in the background, and some bizarre hum), done is better than perfect. And...what else do annoying motivational speakers say? Maybe I'll talk about it next time!

  1. Spot on, Rich. I've never heard those words and thought "Yes, I can do that, too."
I vow to never use those words in my speeches.

  2. Yes, I agree to never use that phrase or tagline in a speech again. Of course, if I can do it... you can do it! :)

  3. I think I'll start doing more with video, too. After all...if *you* can do it, *I* can do it. ;-)

    Good stuff...

Excellent! I hate universal statements like:
“Everybody should absolutely always eat breakfast each morning.”

Sara Bareilles’s song, King of Anything, is a musical reply to if I can do it, you can do it. The chorus goes:

    Who cares if you disagree?
    You are not me.
Who made you king of anything?
So, you dare tell me who to be?
Who died, and made you king of anything?

    Richard
